I Like the View
Why be a pilot?
The long answer? Or the real answer?
The long answer.
Okay.

I am not afraid of heights
But I am terrified of falling
Terrified of falling for what will
Feel like an eternity.

They say the engine is the
Heart of a plane,
But the pilot is its soul.

They say you feel most alive
Right before you die.

At any given second,
An infinite amount of things
Can go terribly wrong.
At any given second,
I could fall for an eternity.

So every second that
I am suspended in the air
Through the magic of flight,
I feel most alive
Because I know that
I can die within an instant.

But it's the seconds that
I am not dying
That I feel most alive.

I am the pilot of the plane.
I am in control
Of the one thing that
Makes me feel alive.

When I am flying,
I am alive.

And the real answer?
I like the view.
