I am an outgoing and vibrant 23 year old. I am newly a mother and have been happily married for 3 years. Recently in life I have decided to pursue my dream of writing. I hope that In seeing my passions take off and come to life, my son will be inspired. With outstanding support from my husband, I am embracing finding myself through my poetry. Hopefully you will be inspired too and share this journey with me
A Mother's Comfort
I hear your cry and come running
a need so great and raw
Climbing the stairs I feel my heart race
as I reached you this is what I saw:

    tears stain your cheeks
    your upper lip still trembles
your eyes are glassy and lost

    I will gladly soothe you
    I will gladly cradle you
    I asked for motherhood
    ,and gladly embrace the cost

Sleep is lost but affection is gained
    you are my biggest fan
When time has passed and life gets harder
I will still comfort you then

Your tiny hands reach for me
your face is colored plum and hot
I sing to you patiently
and give it all I have got

You stare up at me mesmerized
    mommy will always be there
That voice you first recognized
letting you know I will always care

Gently I sway my arms and your eyelids flutter closed
I lay you down in your crib and kiss your little nose

Although this time I lulled you silent
a mother's work is never done
Far greater things will upset you
much larger battles need be won
but mommy will always be there
    for each and every one
